Appreciating Mothers

May 5, 2014

Every Mother’s Day, we are faced with the challenge of finding a way to leave our mothers feeling appreciated. It seems to be one of those nearly impossible missions. How can we truly thank mom for everything she has done for us? Watch this video to put it all in perspective.

Wow! A mother’s role is arguably the most demanding job ever.

So, how does one create or evoke a feeling of appreciation in mom? How does mom know that she is appreciated? The answer may be different for each mother. If you are a mother, we’d like to know, “What makes you feel appreciated?” What can your child(ren) say or do such that everything you put into being a mother is validated?

Share your thoughts with a comment below and you will be automatically eligible to receive a free mother’s day gift from Strawesome. We will randomly draw two (2) winners on May 12th. Please only enter once.

The Mom Behind Strawesome

The Mom Behind Strawesome

For those of you looking for the perfect gift, consider giving mom the gift of health, beauty, and goodness this year. Show her how much you love and appreciate her by ridding her life of toxic straws, giving her something artistic to sip through every day, and helping the environment.

We recommend gifting her a Strawesome glass straw set so that she always has a clean straw ready to go, plus the ability to share with friends and family. The benefit to you is that most sets come discounted with a free brush and qualify for free shipping! You can even ship direct to mom because we do not include prices on the packing slip. Notes in the comment box also print out on the packing slip, so include one of those too.

She will never see it coming, but will love your gift….and you of course!

Happy Mother’s Day to moms everywhere!

My daughter tells me every night , before going to bed, ‘ I love you mom!..,and that makes me forget all woes and thankful for being a mother, and in the process, I have learnt appreciate my mom!

My 2 year son told me just the other day and has been his new favorite thing to say to me at the most random of moments. He will grab my face and say he loves my face and I am amazing and he loves me just the way I am. Yes I now know that comes from a song, but the fact I had never heard it before and that he chose to say that line to me as he was holding my head made me cry like I did when I first held him in my arms. Everything else just melted away. My 1 year old daughter knows how much I like flowers since I am always working in the garden. She has taken to lately picking Flowers (weeds) and presenting them to me saying “TADA! Pretty fwowers for mommE” This is hands down the most rewarding career I have ever taken on and wouldn’t trade it for the world.

My mom is the absolute greatest and I hope I make her feel appreciated! I wouldn’t be the woman I am today if it wasn’t for her! I respect her so much and am so proud of her for all that she has done. I love you, Mom!

There is no other job description needed for Motherhood other than “Love”.
As a Mom with grown children just being able to share some time with me out of their busy schedule makes me feel appreciated and loved.

  6. Chelsea says:

My 11 month old twins follow me all over the house, and even though they can’t say it, I know that they love me!

  7. Sarah Abrego says:

As a Mom of 6 kids I have lots of special moments from an unprompted I love you to all day hugs and kisses. But my favorite is when my kids say ” Mom you’re my favorite”

  8. Kelly says:

My children are between 2 and 12 and are very affectionate, so I feel loved everyday, but when they ask to pray, that’s when I feel validated!

  9. Stephanie says:

I love it when my 3 year old stops what he’s doing to give me a hug, or when my 4 month old gives me a big gummy smile. 🙂 Such acts of genuine love melt my heart.
    Happy Mother’s Day everyone!

  10. Crystal S. says:
